The Winner receives one-on-one meetings with a Senior Executive at Playtone Productions, the renowned television & film production company established by Tom Hanks & Gary Goetzman, and at William Morris Endeavor Entertainment, the prestigious Worldwide Literary & Talent agency.

Each of the volunteering Senior Executives with our Partners will also personally read the Winner’s submitted primetime television sample prior to meeting with the Winner. Please click on "Prizes" on the left side of this page for all of the exciting info!

Overview:
It is crucial that television writers develop a variety of skills in order to be truly effective at bringing their vision to viewers on a weekly basis. As such, this competition is for writers who would like to write for a primetime television series, with interest in someday becoming a highly skilled Executive Producer (aka "Show Runner") of a scripted primetime drama or comedy series.

While paid writing experience is not necessary, we do require some writing experience and a professional sample. Students of Film, Television and Theater, Journalism, English and Communications are encouraged to apply.

The main qualities required to win are a combination of very strong indication of talent for writing primetime series (tone, character, structure, relationships) and the personal intelligence, communication skills & maturity needed to potentially run a show.

Submissions are currently being accepted for a primetime scripted comedy or drama series in production for airing on broadcast network or cable during the 2009 television season. NO screenplays, treatments, pilots, short stories, plays, novels, articles or other materials of any kind will be accepted.

Our Competition is unique in that your submission fees will go toward our charitable projects that help people who are coping with serious illnesses. Our Partners (Playtone, William Morris Endeavor) and Volunteers are supportive of our charitable projects and are very confident in our ability to also find & nurture writing talent. This is why they have joined us in this Competition.

We wish you the best of luck, and look forward to receiving your submission soon!
